Special guest Cheryl Cornelius is back to talk about establishing the perfect patient experience. Cheryl’s practice in San Antonio received 600+ Google reviews in a short chunk of time thanks to the consistent work of making their office a place patients want to visit. Cheryl shared with Kiera a few tips to keep the culture one of positivity:
Start your morning huddle with a moment of gratitude, then celebrate the previous day’s wins
Consider what your patients will want and need, right down to the tiniest detail
If you make mistakes, own it
Stay on top of your spending
One thing Cheryl does is treating her staff to lunch once a week. It’s a time they can all get together and chat about life and bond. This episode is a great chance to think of ways to have a positive attitude throughout your workplace, including both staff and patients.

Time for the Week of How finale! When it comes to assisted hygiene, it can be really good or really bad — it’s up to you. But Kiera’s here to tell you how to do it the best way possible! She mentions the following:
Schedule on an hour/half hour basis
Know where the x’s and slashes are
Communicate! (Plus a useful tool to help do this)
Tee ‘em up the same way/practice dialogue
If you haven’t done assisted hygiene before, Kiera recommends starting slow — maybe in the afternoon instead of all day every day. Make sure you listen to the episode to hear her full spiel, then visit www.TheDentalATeam.com to catch up on the rest of the Week of How episodes!
The Week of How continues! In this episode, it’s all about block scheduling and how it can totally help your business out. Kiera shares some important how-tos to consider:
What’s the doctor’s dream schedule?
Consider new patients’ place
Block out times for high production
If you’re not sold on block scheduling so far, Kiera goes a step further and talks about all the benefits that come with doing this, as well as a special COVID-19 spin on it.

The week of step-by-steps with Kiera continues! Today is about insurance verification — not sexy, but necessary. It’s important to check to make sure your patients are still active with their insurance companies. Below are a few tips to help you out:
Create insurance view to cluster groups together
A pro tip for calling: Transfer to the next available agent instead of hanging up
After verifying, visualize it on the screen — use an asterisk!
Change the appointment color based on when you can next schedule the patient
Know which appointments you need to verify for the next day
Check the boxes!
For any questions or want of forms that Kiera mentioned, including a sample insurance verification form or helpful vocabulary, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kiera’s giving a game plan for heading back to the office! As a few offices begin to open back up, here are four ideas to consider as we get ramped back up into practice life.
Get insurance verification dialed in
Block scheduling is your friend!
Utilize assisted hygiene to get cashflow up
Make it easy for patients to pay and consider membership plans
Side note: There are also personal protective equipment things to consider. Make sure your office researches what requirements are out there in our new coronavirus world.
This episode is a great preview for the rest of the week, so make sure you stay tuned! And visit www.TheDentaATeam.com.

What other family members can we get scheduled for you?
It’s never going to be as predictable or less expensive than it is today.
Like a chip in your windshield, you know it’s there. It’s going to crack, we just don't know when.
How can I help you smile?
I’m calling regarding your account. Give me a quick call back.
Let’s get you scheduled so I don’t forget about you.
Kiera talks all about her trip to Antarctica in this episode, and shares some super interesting facts (who knew you had to sterilize your boots before stepping on land?). The experience she had made her think about life in general, and what we should each be doing to make every day count. Traveling makes Kiera feel alive; what makes you feel alive?
What other areas in your life are you engaged in outside of dentistry and your home/family life? Expanding your views helps you connect better with others. Today’s the day to start making your life really count, one day at a time.

Guess WHAT!? It’s Mark Costes’s birthday today! Happy birthday, Mark!
In this episode, Kiera shares the traits she admires about Mark and how each of us should find someone like Mark in our lives. A few of the traits he exemplifies (and traits we should all try and acquire) are loyalty, striving to improve, know the energy you’re bringing to the party, and applying what you love about someone into your lifestyle.
When we have positive people in our lives, we should look at their best characteristics and emulate them in our own lives. Mark is a great person for Kiera to do that with.
So happy birthday, Mark, from The Dental A-Team family.
