Dr. Perna has been in toxic cultures before, where the wrong people sat in the wrong seat on the bus, so to speak, or they sat in the right seat, but didn’t have the right attitude. To fix the negative atmosphere, she focused on the following:
Anyone can be a leader. Don’t be afraid to step up.
Relate everything to your core values.
Be committed.
