Some quick tips on how to build relationships without adding time or a ton of effort:

  • Know your patients names and use them
  • Recall personal information about patients or their families
  • Introduce your patients to one another in handoffs and exams
  • Invite your patients to share their experience with you
  • Ask your patients non-dental questions
  • LISTEN when your patients speak and repeat information back to show you’re following along with them
