How Learning New Techniques Can Result In Practice Growth
Practice growth is inevitable. Expansion is what makes life worth living and learning new things keeps us feeling young! These things are true both in and outside of the dental practice.
It doesn’t always have to take the form of physical space, acquiring a new building or practice, nor does it even have to be adding providers. Practice growth could be as simple as expanding the range of services that you’re offering your patients! Learning new techniques, using new technology or even training completely new procedures!
Here are a few great ways to hone in on your practice growth and figure out which procedures you could bring to your practice:
- What procedure(s) intrigues or excites you that you do now?
- Can you expand and add onto that procedure? (for example, do you LOVE crowns but you’re not able to do crown lengthening yet and that’s something that you think could add value to your practice?)
- Is there something that you refer out for and wish you could keep it in office?
- Check yourself, do you enjoy the procedure or are you strictly looking to keep in office to keep the production with you?
- Do your colleagues talk about fun procedures they’re doing that interest you?
- Learn more!
- Do you love CE and just need help implementing it?
- Use your resources!
Important to remember: do a gut check first. Number one piece of advice is to do what you love to do! Don’t do things you don’t love if you don’t have to. You will be happier, a better practitioner, and a better leader by living in a space you enjoy!
